THE NATIONAL FILM AND SOUND ARCHIVE OF AUSTRALIA

ARTISTS:        LEILA JEFFREYS AND MELVIN J. MONTALBAN
CLIENT:          THE NATIONAL FILM AND SOUND ARCHIVE OF AUSTRALIA (NFSA)

Creative Road worked with The National Film and Sound Archive to deliver ‘TEMPLE’ a collaborative artwork by artist Leila Jeffreys and filmmaker and artist Melvin J. Montalban as part of the NFSA’s 40th Anniversary celebrations. Over its three-month run, TEMPLE attracted 12 500 visitors from across Australia.

The artwork, an immersive and reflective audiovisual installation was restaged as a centrepiece to the celebrations and pays homage to the expressive and idiosyncratic native cockatoo.

'TEMPLE' was initially made for Vivid Sydney 2022, commissioned by Destination NSW.
