THE DESIGN LED CITY PUBLIC ART POLICY + FRAMEWORK

CLIENT:          BRISBANE CITY COUNCIL

With Brisbane set to enter the world stage with the 2032 Olympics, Creative Road were engaged to prepare a high quality, benchmarked public art policy and framework, aligned with the City’s key priorities and fundamental design values. The purpose was to ensure Brisbane grows into a world class public art destination in the lead up to the Olympics and beyond. Building on our previous work for the Brisbane River Art Framework, this new consultancy included a city-wide curatorial framework, international case studies, staged implementation plans, and public and internal facing public art toolkits.

“Brisbane is about to be on show to the world. It will soon enter a period of increasing scrutiny by other states and countries and greater cultural exposure. To be seen as a public art city of substance, and on a par with other world city public art programs, a new refreshed approach is required.” Rebecca Townsend, Director, Creative Road
